The Kick Inside are a new band that come from Bristol in the west of England. They've hit my radar this past month or so and have recently played a Big Pink Cake night in Bristol where they supported the fabulous Horowitz. The band have five songs for streaming on their My Space and they're all rather good. The band aren't a tribute to INXS, as their name might have suggested. Although they do hark back to the 80s and the hey day of Jangle pop - recalling bands like The Brilliant Corners, The Chesterfields and to a lesser extent The Smiths.
We're also delighted that the band will be making the trip up the M4 on Sunday 6th July for a Lostmusic Presents show at The Enterprise in Camden. The line-up for that show is just being finalised and we should be able to announce the full line-up shortly.
