Indurain - What You Get For Being Naive

Indurain have released their new EP on Plastilna Records which is titled What You Get For Being Naive. The EP opens with The Moment which is one infectious piece of electro pop with the band drafting in a bass player to give it some extra oomph. Let's not forget the backing vocals either which are used with great effect throughout the song making it a worthy lead and ultimately the stand out track on this EP.
Sadly things go slightly awry for me from that point in as the band seems to have an identity crisis and seem to be undecided if they are a lo-fi, sometimes folkish inspired, band or whether they are a fully fledged electro pop act. Whilst tracks like If I had A Film are pleasant enough to listen too they soon fade as there is nothing about them which sticks in the memory long term. It's only when Indurain head back to the electro pop dancefloor with The Secret Life that they excite again.
Maybe it works better live and I will be able to find out as they will be playing at Lost Music Presents on July 6th. In the meantime grab the EP for the excellent The Moment and The Secret Life. If the other tracks work for you then that's a bonus!
What You get For Being Naive is out now on Plastilna Records and is distributed world wide. See the label's website for stockists.
