This is Ivy League are a duo consisting of Alex Suarez and Ryland Blackinton. They're currently based in New York. The band play some of the nicest sounding indiepop to hop into my inbox lately. It's at time like this that it's worth wading through the awful and the average. It seems that these occasional gems are worth waiting for.This is Ivy League take their cues from Belle and Sebastian, Camera Obscura and Simon and Garfunkel. Mix in a love of the current Swedish indiepop explosion and you have a beautiful sound. The band are a notch or two above the ordinary and a worthy of further investigation. They have made a couple of songs available to download from their self titled debut LP which is released now on Twenty Seven Records.
