The Strawberry Shortcake Festival is a one day festival in Levenshulme (Manchester) which will feature more than 16 bands from across the UK.Some highlights of those lined up to play are the noise-pop riot-boy/grrrl Le Tetsuo, the spiky and off kilter lo-fi pop of Glasgow's Plaaydoh, the more acoustic pop orientated Klaus Says Buy The Record and the lo-fi pop oddness served up by Jam on Bread.
Each band will play a a set lasting 15 minutes, with the music being interspersed by short films, art, food and stalls selling hand made things.
There is more information about all the bands and ticket information at the festivals My Space Page.
This is all taking place at the Klondyke Bowls Club, Burnage Range, Levenshulme
- Sun June 22 - 2pm till late - £7.50 entry. It's a shame it's on the same day as our WeePop! gig down in London as I would have been tempted to travel up for this as it sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday.
