Following on from the last post about The Strawberry Shortcake festival I find that Plaaydoh (one of the bands playing the festival) have a rather wonderful (and free) EP to download from Winning Sperm Party, simply called 'plaaydoh ep' - there are 5 songs on the EP and it's a rather nice slice of noise pop. Shouty vocals, crashing guitars and crucially a smattering of hummable tunes make this a great way to waste 10 minutes of your time. The most 'pop' the band get is on the everso catchy 'Boy Scout' which to these ears sounds like a lo-fi cousin of Slow Down Tallahassee. Elsewhere the EP is far more ramshackle and noise driven - it's still rather fab. And it's free - although there is a limited (CDr I presume) physical copy available for £3 from the Winning Sperm Party website.
