Soda Fountain Rag is one Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl who comes from Bergen, Norway. Soda Fountain Rag is her solo project as she is also in Herr Nilsson and The April Skies.It's Rag Time was recorded in 2006 but delays have meant it has not surfaced until now. The music can be described as lo-fi with Jordhal playing all the instruments and/or programming the gadgetry.
It's amazing how many words these songs contain because of their length being about 2.30 on average which is the ideal time for a pop song! She sings about anger, sadness and love whilst writing with guile and humour.
There are some great songs on here such as Go!, Driving In Your Car, Don't Kill The Clowns and Monkey Girl for example. However Soda Fountain Rag has progressed greatly in the past year meaning much of this album could possibly be redundant if you have followed her regular music uploads to her various sites. However as an introduction to her work you can't go wrong with this pretty enjoyable album.
