Labrador claims their new signings The Sound of Arrows will lead Swedish pop into the next decade. They will be releasing a new nine track EP for the label in May called Danger. The band comprise of Oskar Gullstrand and Stefan Storm. The latter had previously been making house music whilst the former was once in an orchestra.
Unsurprisingly you can hear both these elements in their brand of indie pop. You can also hear hints of Tough Alliance, Saint Etienne, Club 8 amongst others.

Funnily enough, the degree of bombast in Labrador press releases seems inversely proportional to the quality of the stuff they release. But I guess that's swedish pop 2008 for you - more talk and attitude than substance..
but...this is fantastic.
I have to agree with qwert yuiop on this one. I thought it was great.
well there is no denying I am horribly out of touch with this increasingly popular part of the indie world.. listening to it again at least they sound better than TTA (not on Labrador, I know)!
Didn't know there was a Labrador records (or Swedish indiepop) backlash going on already ?!
Me, I think Labrador records have yet to put a foot wrong and Sound of Arrows are fantastic, pure POP heaven !
And this song "danger" is only the tip of the iceberg : there's lots more great stuff from them to come (I know cause I've heard some of it).
the other song on the myspace is even better.
I don't think there is a Labrador backlash actually. For all I know, I AM the Labrador backlash. But don't let me ruin the euro pop party (hah! like you'd let anything do that..) - I'll just head back into my cave and wait for the new Black Angels album..
