You know what you are getting with the The Trembling Blue Stars and on the Exploring The Shadows EP it's indie pop of the highest order once more.On Beautiful Blank the band have put together a catchy song as you are likely to hear this or any other year with the vocal quality of Beth Arzy shining throughout. No doubt it will see the Trembling Blue Stars heading for radio play and chart success recently enjoyed by label mates Camera Obscura.
As Easy As Being Alone is as near to the Field Mice as you can get without a change of name being required whilst Outside Looking Elsewhere is a lovely lo-fi ballad. It all ends nicely with And Then Silence which is perfect acoustic indie pop despite the somewhat abrupt ending taking you by surprise - ambient indie anyone?
Sadly it looks like Elefant have joined in the practice spreading songs across multiple formats as perfected by the majors and you will need to pick up the 7" version to hear a new version of Say Goodbye To The Sea, originally on last years Holy Writer album.
