Computer Club - Electrons & Particles

The Computer Club are another one of those bands who are heavily influenced by the 1980's, in particular new wave and post punk. Ahh Interpol I hear you cry (again!) and the influences on the PR sheet read like others I have received recently. Yep both The Cure and Joy Division are here and one wonders if a law has been passed to make both of those band names compulsory entries on the record label blurbs these days (no pun intended).Anyway the truth is that the Computer Club make a pretty decent noise even if they sound like Strozek, A Place To Bury Strangers or any of the many other bands you can find on My Space all influenced by the same thing. Both tracks are frantic, bass driven affairs and if you enjoy the retro sound as I do you can hardly go wrong. One has to wonder though if this 1980's revival has reached saturation point already.
Both sides of the single are available for streaming on My Space. The single will be released on 24th March 2008 via Split Records.
