Cloudberry Records has been one of my highlights of 2007. Quality release after quality release via limited edition of three track 3" CD's has raised the standard just that bit higher. Are there any others to take up the Cloudberry gauntlet in 2008? I hope so!Cloudberry also post one mp3 from each release which by my reckoning means there are over seventy free mp3s on the site. Today indie mp3 and Skatterbrain have compiled their favourite 10 tracks from those freely available. My ten (volume two) present 28 minutes of glorious indie pop & shoegazing tagged and replay-gained for your listening pleasure.
But hold on! Anyone who leaves a comment for this post (how about posting your favourite ten from those available?) will have their name put into a hat and the first two drawn out at random will win a copy of the Nothing Matters When We're Dancing EP (Cloud 502) which features tracks from Komon, The Jealous Sea, Soda Fountain Rag, Sunny Summer Day and The Pristines. For an increased chance of winning visit Skatterbrain and comment on the Cloudberry post over there too. Closing date is 4th January 2008. COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

Lost Music, the gig promotion partner of indie mp3 will be putting on a Cloudberry Records gig on at the end of February 2008. Confirmed to date are Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Strawberry Story, Manhattan Love Suicides and one more to be confirmed. DJ's will be spinning Cloudberry releases only. More details will be posted once the line up is confirmed.
Happy new year from all of us at indie mp3 and here's looking forward to 2008!

Ahhh...picking 10 Cloudberry songs is hard. It would have been harder if we had to include any tracks we wanted so I just picked from the freebie mp3s. I did ask Roque (several times) to take a vacation for a month or three so I can catch up to all the releases but there's just no stopping him! hahaha! my top ten (so far...) Starting off with the sound of blaring Sirens and ending up with Disco Dancing up to New Year's Eve with a whole lot of pop goodies inbetween...cheers to Roque and if you haven't been hooked yet with 3" CDs, well, it's not too late...

Cloudberry is the best thing to happen in music in 2007, but more: I believe it will acquire legendary status after some time, almost like Sarah records.
And I was listening to indie-pop Christmas compilation “Fantasia de Navidad” (2002) from Siesta records during these days. Most of the songs there are covers. I started looking for originals, and – guess what – one song - “The flowers are calling” from British indie-folk band Number 4 Joystreet – was re-released just recently on Cloudberry (048). It’s a nice coincidence.
