Michael Knight are a Dublin-based indie pop group. Their debut LP 'Youth Is Wasted On The Young' came out in 2006 on Villain Records. I've only recently heard the LP and it is well worth a listen. The singer Richie Murphy has one of those classic pop voices - recalling Stephen Merritt or Neil Hannon - at their finest. All this is backed by a band that are at ease making some swooning indie pop sounds. The band have a new LP due out in February 2008 (I think it's going to be called 'I'm Not Entirely Clear How I Ended Up Like This') and it will be released on Yes Boy Ice Cream Records. Certainly a band to watch out for in the coming months. Here is a video the band made for 'Leaving Town' (it's a song on their debut LP).
