The School - UK Tour and Début Single

The School, who have recently signed to Spain's Elefant Records, have announced details of their début single and a UK tour.

The single will be All I Wanna Do and will be released next month. It's apt that the band, who play indie pop with a strong 1960's influence, will see the single produced by Ian Catt who has produced and played with Saint Etienne as well as the Field Mice and the Trembling Blue Stars.

The tour which will take place in October and November 2007 will see the band playing at the following dates:

25th Oct - CARDIFF - SPILLERS RECORDS, free in-store with The Loves at 5pm

26th Oct - STOKE-ON-TRENT - THE GLEBE with The Loves / Electrophonvintage

27th Oct - MANCHESTER - THE CASTLE - with The Loves (afternoon gig)

28th Oct - GLASGOW - TWISTED WHEEL - with The Loves / Roy Moller

3rd Nov - BIRMINGHAM - THE ISLAND BAR - with The Loves / Richard Burke

4th Nov - DERBY - THE VIC INN - with Silence at Sea / Pagan Wanderer Lu & the Voluntary Action Group / Last Arrow / Yanmolby (charity gig in aid of Treetops Hospice)

1st Dec - LEEDS - CARPE DIUM - with The Loves / The Spencer McGarry Season

That's London and Cardiff thrice each. And no West Country. Not right. Not at all.

You should have offered to put them on!

Their Myspace page states that they have run out of leave and can only play gigs that are not too far away because of getting back. I suppose getting to London from Cardiff is easier than getting to Exeter.

Come on the 2nd Martijn - it would be good to see you again!

I'd love to. Perhaps if I manage to finish my time-and-money-creator by then...

Exeter is closer to Cardiff than London, so that's a bad excuse really. And yes, we could have offered to put them on. But there are seven or so in the band, aren't there? It'd be a bit embarrassed if the band outnumbered the audience... :)
