Scottish indie pop band The Just Joans have been around for 10 years. They released their debut album Last Tango In Motherwell in 2005 which they estimate sold seven copies!
They play indie pop with disapproving but funny and sometimes gloomy lyrics in the same way Half Man Half Biscuit did (and still do!) complete with a traditional instrument or two. The subjects range from high school days and complaining about those around them.

The band have just recorded an EP entitled Virgin Lips which will be released on the Wee Pop label. They will be launching the single at Uberstompf vs Twee As Fuck on Friday 12th October at London's Macbeth pub. I am not sure if the Scottish link was intentional or not. They will be supporting the likes of fellow Scots The Felt Tips, who are having their own single launch at the same night, alongside headliners Stars Of Aviation. You can buy tickets for what seems to be a promising night here.
Well, the album is f.ing great and I would advice you to get a hold of it! common, get the sales up abit!
