This is the first part of an interview with Club 8. Karolina Komstedt have been kind enough to answer some questions for us.
The second part of the interview will be posted early next week and will include Johan Angergårds answers.
1. You have recently played live in Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö. What´s your nicest memories from those occasions?
It was during our performance in Göteborg. The place was crowded and people knew the lyrics and were singing along. That was astonishing, very untypical for a Swedish indie audience.
2. What would be the perfect imaginary setting for a Club 8 gig?
A club with thick, fitted carpets, comfortable sofas, a quiet and calm place with a thousand candles, people sitting down listening attentively.
3. If there was one musical gift you could attain in a glimpse of an
eye, what would that be?
To play the guitar like Johnny Marr.
4. I will be dj:ing in Lund this weekend when two other bands on Labrador (Laurel Music and Irene) are playing. Could you name a few songs you think I should play to make that an perfect evening?
Brighters 'Next summer', Television personalities 'strangely beautiful', The Mary Onettes 'Void'. Let the evening end with a song that is Sarah Record's best kept secret: Gentle Despite 'Summer in me'!
My favorite
city: I always feel lost, confused and misfit when i visit a city, even small ones, so I try to avoid them. But I actually liked Bandung, Indonesia when Club 8 was there in March. It was such a relief to be there after some very busy days in stressful Jakarta. Bandung has laidback people, fresh air and amazing views.
place: The shower. I love warm water and when it pours down on me it's like bad thoughts are being washed away and new, interesting ones are allowed to come. I take all my important decisions in the shower.
season: Late spring and early autumn.
colour: Something between light grey and blue.
weather: Sunshine through rain. It's the most beautiful thing I know in this world.
film: The one that is inside my head day and night, constantly. I just finished the first version of a film script. The title is 'Kram' which is the Swedish word for 'Hug'. It's about a 13 year old boy who can't stop dreaming...
