The Tacticians - Some Kind Of Urban Fulfilment

The Tacticians are a London quartet, with two brothers at the fore. This album, which came out this week, is alright I guess. You see, herein lies the problem. As the floodgates open and more and more stuff comes through, so the amount of rather average music increases. A lot of the songs aren’t bad, but rather than damn them with faint praise I’ll concentrate on the best bits, which really are worth checking out.Have a go at Hardcore Porn, which is lovely wistful country, Honey You Ain’t Needed Anymore which has more soul and teeth than the other songs, yet still runs perilously close to MOR and Dance Like Nobody’s Watching which is the highpoint, a song that sparkles, fizzes and pops and finally divulges a solution to The Tacticians search for the lost hook. One for popping over to iTunes and picking out the best bits I think.
