Strawberry Story are back! The band whose brand of fuzzy guitar pop and female vocals saw them compared to the likes of The Darling Buds and The Primitives are all set to support Bunnygrunt at London's Horse & Groom on September 21st. The band played a comeback gig last month and this seems to have wetted their appetite for some more appearances.
I never caught them the first time round so I am looking forward to the gig. I will post further details when the tickets go on sale.

Bunnygrunt (USA)
All American indie-pop legends Bunnygrunt bring their twisted two-minute bubblegum pop gems to the UK for the very first time. Formed way back in 1993 and with a mountain of rapturously received albums, singles and popfest appearances to their name tonight see the launch of a new single on WeePOP! Records. If you like your pop loud, fast and sweet then this one off chance to catch Bunnygrunt is a must.

Strawberry Story (UK)
Forged from candyfloss and mint cracknel in the late 1980s, Strawberry Story was a heady mix of fuzzed out guitars, dense bass lines and joyously girly singing. They had a few plays by the late great John Peel, got single of the week in the NME for "The man with the stereo hands" and went on to tour Japan. They recently reformed for charity and the gig went so well they’ve decided to play some more – we’re glad they did. For fans of Talulah Gosh, Shop Assistants and the Primitives.

Cooties Attack! (UK)
Cooties Attack are Holly and Huw, a bedroom disco punk band formed in Manchester. They write songs about superheroes, crushes, fragile egos, Harry Potter, discos, queer scenes, and other such nonsense in a disco punk style. Think early Bis and Helen Love and you'll be halfway there.

The Cut-Outs (UK)
The Cut-Outs feature members of Airport Girl and The Fat Tulips and play garage rock for pop kids with short, daft guitar solos and an unerring ear for a tune (often their own!).
"Popkids bringing us old-school thrills aplenty in the form of shamble beat with scritchy scratchy guitars, tootling fake-fur clad keyboards and fab rat-a-tat drums. Think Beat Happening or The Pastels in the olden days before they got all sophisticated like." Kittenpainting
