The Salteens are a band from Vancouver, Canada. They seem to have released two LPs to date - 'Short-Term Memories' (2000) and 'Let Go of your Bad Days' (2003). The band seem to have been beset with problems as distribution companies and labels went bust on them shortly after their second LP was released. Both LPs were re-issued in 2005 and there was talk, in 2006, of a third LP to be called 'Moths'. The bands own website and My Space both dry up on any new news in 2006. So I have no idea what has happened to this proposed LP.
I have just ordered their first two releases on the strength of this song 'Time You Have Been Wasting' - which I heard on a double compilation from Magic Marker records called 'A House Full of Friends" - which contains some great songs by All Girl Summer Fun Band, Aislers Set, Tullycraft, The Softies and many others. Back to The Salteens, this song is a cracking piece of souful indiepop - with great female vocals and horns to the fore. Cracking stuff. Here is the video for the song:
