Pete and The Pirates - Come on Feet (Stolen Recordings)

Pete and the Pirates have a new(ish) single out at the moment. It's called 'Come on Feet' and it's released on Stolen Recordings. I like what Stolen Recordings are doing at the moment. The label has just released a nifty compilation CD simply called - "Stolen Recordings Compilation (SR-008)" which features 23 tracks that are as varied as they are good. It's well worth investigating.

Anyways, back to Pete and his Pirates -
The 'A' Side - 'Come On Feet' is a rather jaunty slab of indie pop. A driving beat propels the song forward whilst the neat guitar riff compliments it nicely. This is the sort of sound that would more than likely get me shaking my limbs on a dancefloor. The 'B' side is as different as it's possible to be - 'Humming' is a gentle, near folk sounding ballad. It does less for me. But it does showcase the fact the band have more than one sound in their armoury.
