Taking their name from a Roald Dahl novel Esiotrot, which is also Tortoise spelt backwards, have been around for a couple of years now. They were blogged quite a bit last year and I have finally got around to listening to their music which is a blend of indie pop with folkish undertones. There are four songs available for streaming via their My Space page and they are pretty, inoffensive songs. My favourite track is Emily Scott, taken from the The Dirtiest Birthday Present EP which slowly draws you in then doesn't let go.
They play a free gig at the Cafe 1001 on June 19th 2007 in the heart of London's Bangla Town although it is not listed on the Cafe 1001 website.
