If you happen to be strolling around London on the icelandic independence day, June 17th, you just might fancy popping into The Luminaire on 311 High Road, Kilburn. You're likely to meet either yelping punk rockers balancing on chairs and/or tables, half-naked men covered in glimmer pouring champange down their underwear, or the elegant singing salaryman Tim Ten Yen. What on earth is happening?Well, PR company Two Little Dogs is scheduling the first in what will become bi-monthly events called Reykjavik Nights in London, where two icelandic bands will appear accompanied by a solitary local act. In this case it will feature the punk rockers Puke, whom I've mentioned here before, Trabant, who despite long careers in ignored indie bands are now one of the most popular bands in iceland, and the beforementioned Tim Ten Yen.
I, for one, am sure you will not be dissapointed by this event, Trabant put on a spectacularly saucy show, Puke are the most fun you can have without puking, and Tim Ten Yen hammers out some delightful indiepoppy tunes on a syntheziser with very authentic fake drum beats.
