Liverpool - Musical Culture

In 2008 the city of Liverpool will be the European Capital Of Culture.

Liverpool of course has a strong musical history and a lot of my musical tastes were shaped by the bands of the early 1980's such as Echo & The Bunnymen, Wild Swans, Lotus Eaters, Teardrop Explodes and of course Pete Wylie and his many variations of Wah!

If you visit the Liverpool 08 website you are able to download a 1 hour musical tour of the City, split into a number of mp3's, narrated by Wylie himself. There is also a map to download and print so you can follow the tour whilst listening if you visit Liverpool itself. It can be found here.

There is also a page on Music and The Beatles where you can download a guide to the Liverpool music scene as well as a Beatles map. You can get those here.
