Komon - Silly Girl CDR

Komon is Brighton based Swede Antonia Pehrson although she will be residing in Berlin soon - what is it with Berlin and Swedish females? Bobby Baby has also moved there! Anyway she has also provided vocals for the likes of The Lovekevins and Monster Bobby and describes her music as indiepopmusic with organs and analogue synths.

I have been listening to her debut Silly Girl EP which was recorded in 2005 but Antonia was unable to finish it until last summer. As I mentioned in a brief post last month I found that her voice reminds me of Amelia Fletchers but musically it's something different with Antonia producing some excellent sounds from her guitar, casio keyboard and her fruity loops! The songs are gentle and blissful affairs although things get a bit faster on Throwing Stones. There are plenty of indie pop references I could pluck out of the air to describe Komons music but I will let you be the judge and jury.

Komon - Are We Friends?

You can stream two new tracks Komon's My Space page where there is a blog entry telling you how you can purchase the EP.

currently everyone who's vaguely alternative and under 30 in Sweden seems to be emigrating to Berlin. I don't really recall that being the case a couple of years ago - but god knows the germans need all the assistance they can get with their indie scene (and Sweden could use a few less indie scenesters, so it's all for the best really..;).
