Good Shoes carry on in pretty much the same vein as they have done on their previous three single releases and whilst that is a good thing for the art of the punky pop single you would have thought that four singles in they would have expanded their sound somehow. For anyone else The Photos On My Wall would have been a cracking single but the band seem to have a pressing need to match the giddy heights of their brilliant debut single Small Town Girl and elements of said single surface in this.
The b-sides are what you expect if you have seen the band live. I would hesitate to use the term filler tracks but to these ears the same effort does not go into any track that doesn't make the a-side.
To me it seems that the band are afraid of something but I cannot put my finger on what. At this point in time Good Shoes are a cracking singles band. Just don't expect anything else.
