The Electric Pop Group

The Electric Pop Group were formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2005. They consist of brothers Erik and Martin Aamot who are joined by keyboard player Linnéa Nilsson. In 2006 Jimmi Thunholm and Gustaf Murman joined to complete the line up. The band release their début album on December 15th and four tracks from it are currently available as free mp3 downloads.

If you want comparisons as a pointer then the Razorcuts were the first thing that sprang to my mind with more than a respectful nod to the early Creation bands but like so many of their fellow Swedes the band eventually stamp their own imprint onto the music that overwrites any obvious influences.

It's a pity the album is being released so late in the year. Listening to The Electric Pop Group I feel that if it was put back to the first week of the new year it would set the standard for the rest of 2007.
