Matadorjose

Matadorjose is a chap called Axel Ekström who hails from Helsinki, Finland and I guess that the indie pop phenomenom known as Labrador Records has now crossed the border into his country! Axel plays, writes, sings and records all the songs on his own. Poems by Egdar Allan Poe have also assisted his writing and he is also influenced by indie-pop, Sarah Records and New Order as well as sixties rocker George Fame.

His influences shine through on two of the tracks I have listened too. Tired Of Trying owes more than a nod to Sarah Records and Another Sunny Day in particuliar. Within A Dream has more than a hint of New Order about it and both songs are well crafted and worth intruding on anyones valuable time.
