The Fischers are a new and unsigned band from Blackburn, England. I have been a fan since I discovered their song 'Down The Days' a few weeks ago on their My Space page. It was only today that a couple of other songs were added to their profile. There isn't a lot of information out there on the band.
Singer and Guitarist Jamie was the male lead voice in Tompaulin. It seems that Tompaulin are no more or are possibly on an extended break. And it seems this has galvanised Jamie into getting a new band together. And what a start The Fischers have made. These are rough and ready demo tracks. But the quality of the songs shines through. What do they sound like? A little like Tompaulin, for sure, but I can also hear a host of 60s influences along with more than a few 80s ones. In short, they sound like The Fischers.

Head over to My Space to download the other two songs - 'Call Yourself Alive' and 'Ready Steady Go!'. It's not often that I get excited over a new band that are so, well, erm new. The band are currently unsigned and these tracks are the first signs that The Fischers could be something a little bit special.
