I was reading the news on the Labrador site and read that the label have signed a new band to the label called The Mary Onettes.This lot are a new name on me but I found out that they were signed to Sony/BMG releasing one EP for that label before being dropped. Part of the press release states:
The Mary Onettes are as close to arenarock as you'll ever get on Labrador. Inspired by guitar pop from the 80's, indie bands from the 90's and the talent to make the best songs you'll ever hear in they 00's they sound like a Swedish relative to Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths och The Jesus and Mary Chain from the future.
They are releasing an EP titled Lost and Labrador have made the self titled lead track available for downloading. It's a loud, brash affair which reminds me of British Sea Power in many ways.
