Lake Holiday - The Curse Of Sunshine

The Curse of Sunshine is the first EP proper from Canadian based Lake Holiday. Taking their cue from a range of influences this EP has gradually grown on me despite my initial rejection. The band are certainly in their element when playing in a "rockier" mode as In Whispers and Press Record Then Play testify. The change of pace on the slower tracks threw me but once I adjusted myself the songs made perfect sense and an ideal soundtrack for the late summer. It's not an essential release but it's certainly a change of scenery if nothing else.
On a side note the band have released their first two EP's under the creative commons license. Both are available in mp3 and the lossless format FLAC. You can get the first EP End Of Summer here and the second, American Summer, here.
