Fanfarlo

I caught Fanfarlo at the Fortuna Pop Night at the Buffalo Bar last night. It's the first time I have seen the band and they were superb playing a set consisting of simple and effective indie pop tunes. The only track of theirs of which I was aware was their contribution to The Kids At The Club compilation called Elephant Graveyard but I have been streaming their tracks all morning and i'm more than impressed.

The band were established when Simon Aurell left his native Sweden (well it had to be didn't it!) which saw him move to London. He quickly set up a band with Justin Finch (bass) and multi-instrumentalist Leon Beckenham (Keys, Trumpet) with both gigs and high praise following in a short space of time. The band are releasing their debut single Talking Backwards on October 9th 2006 (FortunaPOP) and an album is planned for the end of the year.

Sadly their are no mp3's for downloading and in this age why not? However you can stream five tracks including the new single from the bands site.
