So what we have here are one of the best new bands I have stumbled upon over the past few weeks. Charlie, Don't Surf are a Danish quartet featuring Rasmus Hvass Hedeman, Jonas Andersen, Mikkel Malmberg and Mads Bøgh. They make simple lo fi indie pop. Maybe a little like a poppier version of Pavement. I know that's not very C86, but somehow I think their lo-fi jangle sounds might appeal to readers of Indie MP3.
The band currently have no releases available, although one is imminent, it will be called - "How Turkey Turned Into Being A Monster!". And four tracks from this five track EP are available to download on My Space.
Charlie, Don't Surf - Friends of French Art (in windows just do a normal left click to download)
The band also have their own website here.
And how did I stumble accross Charlie, Don't Surf? Well it was through a rather grand new blog called Pastries, Pepper and Canals... which is proving to be a rather fab new resource for finding out about and hearing all that's good in Denmark indie pop land. Well worth a read.

Well thank you very much...
