Total Gaylord Records will have a total of 4 bands from their roster on this years New England Popfest! schedule, which incidentally is not in England but in USA. The first I'm pulling out of the bag is The Lil' Hospital. If I'm not mistaken too badly it seems to share a member with both Shumai and The Besties, Frank E. Korn being their drummer. America seems to be smaller than I thought. All in all there will probably be a total of 10 people performing at the Popfest, despite there being around 27 bands.
Founded by one Kevin Alvir, the story of the band is one I'm all too familiar with myself. To quite their MySpace page:
It started as an extra-curricular activity for Kevin Alvir. Needing to express his love for the Aislers Set and the Television Personalities, Kevin recorded very pop songs in his basement using a 4-track, a cheap drum machine, and an electric guitar under the moniker "the Hospitals." Since Kevin didn't have any friends that shared his liking for pop music or to play with, he decided to call his tapes, The Lil'Hospital.
Have a listen to some songs I copied from MySpace:
The Lil' Hospital - Fast learners
The Lil' Hospital - Heavy Metal
The Lil' Hospital - Big sister in Hollywood

I've only heard "Heavy Metal" so far and it's great! But I wanted to let you know that the mp3 link to "Fast Learners" leads to the same link as "Heavy Metal."
sorry about that, fixed now :)
the besties are from maryland, where i live! ive seen them several times and they fantastic! really really nice too!
