NE Popfest 2006 #12 - Spouse

Hailing from Northampton in that cradle of liberty: Massachusetts, Spouse claim on their website to "follow in a tradition of great song writing while breaking new ground in sonic expression". While what I'm listening to doesn't at first glance seem to be actually groundbreaking, it is quite enjoyable. One can hear The Pixies influence in the songs "Dumbest joke" and "Wonder woman" and there is indeed hint of Pavement in "Kiss or wave goodbye".

They have released 3 full-lenght albums, an EP and 2 singles it seems. They have quite a few mp3's for download here and the albums can be bought and pre-listened here. Here are a few goodies for you listening enjoyment:

Spouse - Dumbest joke
Spouse - Are you gonna kiss or wave goodbye
Spouse - Wonder woman

hey guys, really cool you website, very good music too, but, here is my question, could you tell me how to upload mp3 to my blog? Thanks, 'n keep going with the blog!!!

Hi. The Popfest website puts them in Northampton. I'll have that verified.

about uploading mp3's, we f.e. do not upload mp3's to this blog per se, we instead link to files already published on the world wide web. In my case I sometimes download songs on MySpace and upload them to an FTP site I have, and pay for, at an Internet Service Provider, so I can link to them there and avoid everyone experiencing slow or no transfer speed from MySpace as often appears to be the case.

So we do not upload mp3's to the blog itself, and uploading to a ISP's ftp area depends on who the ISP is and what he offers.

Unless of course Tom has some means unkown to me, but I'd guess that would involve a paid for web space at an ISP also.

I'm afraid I don't. I either link to them or upload to my own web space.

luisinho could also set up his own web server on his PC and link to them that way. However if you have a slow connection don't expect to surf the net at the same time.
