Birds On Holiday are a new band forming in Sweden earlier this year. They are made up of brother and sister Jesper and Josefin Klein. Like, as it seems all musicians in Sweden do, they have played in other bands. Jesper is the bassist in Speedmarket Avenue and was joined by his sister in My Sweet Life. They are also joined by Peter Eriksson who drummed in the aforementioned band.The band have four songs available on their My Space page and I have been giving them a listen these past couple of days. These are lovely indie pop tunes although as I am a sucker for twee female vocals I prefer the tracks where Josefin sings although that's not to say you should dismiss the others. They also write the words and music to the songs seperately and it seems they are both as talented as each other in this respect.
The best of the bunch is The Pigeon And The ..... - don't you just hate the way My Space cuts off song titles! Sadly there is no sign of a CD on there home page. As they have been working on 8 new songs hopefully there is one on the horizon soon.
