Some of the best music this year has been released on the Kids label. There have been some excellent 1980's Manchester influenced singles from the likes of The Whip and Mighty Six Ninety. Kids have now turned their sights to Merseyside and Liverpool's The Wombats. They deliver an almost perfect slice of 60's inspired indie pop with Lost In The Post. Harmonies with catchy lyrics bouncing around with unabashed glee makes you soon forget that this is a song about a relationship in decline.
Flip side Patricia The Stripper is another tale of a doomed affair - this time about a lady of the night. It's an upbeat track drawing from the bands home city's musical influences and history resulting in another playful romp.
Lost In The Post is out on Kids on July 10th and is limited to 500 7" singles. You can buy it direct from the label or download from i-tunes.
