Tomihira hail from the San Francisco Bay area, and have been getting rave reviews for their recent album, Play Dead. They do remind me a little bit of Joydivison, and have been likened to them as well as The Cure, Radiohead and various great bands of shoegaze fame. Indeed as I write this I hear the Cure influence in the song "Maddy and Josh" which is currently playing on my computer, and I like it."Heartbroken", "Sad", "Melancholic" and "Dreamy" are all words that have been used to describe them, and even "Erotic". You'd do well to take notice of this band, they seem poised to make a name for themselves in the near future.
