Meeky Rosie

Meeky Rosie are based in Exeter and have just finished recording their debut album. It has had some tracks mixed by Alan Moulder amongst others and he has done some good things in the past. This got me intrigued so I have been listening to some of their tracks which are available for streaming on their home page.

I have to be honest and say that not all of them are my cup of tea. Some venture to much towards what the major labels call "alternative" on their hastily packaged compilations and you can guess I am talking about the likes of Coldplay or Thirteen Senses here. I can understand why people want to form a band to emulate these but something inside me wishes they wouldn't because there are so many better bands to take inspiration from. However it's not all negative as there are a couple of really good tracks none more so than Nobody Gets Away . It's catchy, pacey, packs an audio punch and none are more surprised than me to find that it is a favourite!

A quick search revealed that it was apparently released as a single earlier this year but I cannot find any places to buy it! Which is a shame because even better are the remixes by Jagz Kooner and Knight-Malciak with the former being stalwart on my playlist since I first came across it.

There may be some things here you may want to give a listen too. You can find out more about the band via their My Space page where you can also stream some tracks whilst you can download some mp3 clips of all the songs here.

im very supprised you like the jagz kooner remix, you basically say you dont like the comersial aspect of some of the music and yet the jagz kooner remix sounds like a comersial gcse project. on the other hand i think paul knights remix is amazing and far from comersial. if you want a copy of the single then email them, im sure they wont mind, the single is getting re-released very soon.
