Asobi Seksu blew my socks off the first time I saw them live, my friend fell instantly in love with the singer, we both bought their CD and he had them autograph it. Yet we'd never ever heard of them before, and had no idea what to expect. In fact we did not expect a lot. What we did get was a powerful and impressive performance by a band that knew exactly what they were doing, and did it well. I've written about them before, and do not hesitate to do so again. They totally rocked.Their new album, Citrus, has been described as "guitar-swirling, sweet-and-sour, bilingual dream pop", and you can listen to samples on their website, be sure to allow pop-ups, and it helps to have Macromedia Flash Player installed.
Asobi Seksu will be headlining on the friday night of New England Popfest.
