Grab Hold Of These - I Will!

There are some pretty decent singles scheduled for release over the next month or two with some bands looking for a piece of the UK chart action.

The Pipettes are back on form with the new single Pull Shapes which is set for release on July 3rd. They release their debut album We Are the Pipettes on July 17th. The band are currently on tour. Check their website for details.

Lucky Soul release their second single Lips Are Unhappy on June 19th. It's the follow up to the brilliant My Brittle Heart which saw them get single of the week in the Guardian.

The Long Blondes release their new single Weekend Without Make Up on June 26th 2006 and it is their first release since the limited edition 7" Separated By Motorways. The band play London's Kings College on June 21st with Shitdisco! and The Boyfriends.

The Whip have followed up their excellent Frustration single (see review here) with a new limited edition 12" single called Trash on Lavolta Recordings. The track is a lot more dancey than Frustration but worringly the remix heads into Sheep On Drugs territory.

Mighty Six Ninety have a new single scheduled for release on August 7th 2006. Titled Keeping You In Mind it's the follow up to the 7" only Believable. I'm unsure which label it's on or where it will be sold at this point but if it's anything like their previous two singles then it's worth getting hold off.

And on the live front Swedish band Love Is All play two London dates later this month. They appear at Madame Jo Jo's on the 27th June 2006 and Cargo the evening after.
