The Sequins - New Single Release

The other band who I enjoyed last night at Sounds XP Presents were Coventry's The Sequins who take their inspiration from the UK 1980's indie scene such as the likes of The Smiths and The Wedding Present. They played a frantic but very entertaining set full of extremely catchy tunes and it was nice to see a band enjoying themselves on stage, frontman Hywel and the guitarist Justin in particuliar. They also seemed a nice bunch of lads when we were chatting to them afterwards.

The band have a new single titled Patients due for release next Monday, 6th March. It is spread across two formats (7" and CD) and is limited to 500 copies in each format. You can pre-order your copy from Tough Love Records now. The bands previous release sold like the proverbial hotcakes - alledgely! I will write a review when my copies drop through the door but in the meantime you can read what a colleague of mine at SoundsXP thought.

The Sequins - Happy Chappie (new single b-side)
The Sequins - Dear Old Bill (previous single)
The Sequins - Nobody Dreams About Me (previous single)

More songs from the 2003 demos can be downloaded from here.
