The Doublestops

This is an interesting one. The Doublestops not only claim to be inspired by the likes of The Beatles, Joy Division and the Mission of Burma but also claim to be influenced by Johann Sebastian Bach. This may explain the extensive use of the violin but to be honest it gives them some originality rather than the wanna be Libertines and Dexys Midnight Runners clones who seem to be two a penny these days.

Take A Picture sounds like it is Apples In Stereo going up against the Penguin Cafe Orchestra whilst I Get So Confused is a more laid back affair with some fine vocals.

The Doublestops are not going to change the world and they may want to give the violin a miss at some stage but they are an interesting distraction none the less.

The band do not have a website at present but visit their My Space page to stream all their tracks and download an additional two songs.
