The Sounds XP Night was excellent. We chose three bands with a diverse range of sounds and none disappointed on the night. Wintergreen had some great songs none more so than Clockwork Mice which sounds as good live as it does on vinyl. The Bridge Gang were the best I have ever seen them as I drunkenly enthused to Jose and Brett at the end of the night. They were simply fantastic and it cannot be too long before they are snapped up by a big label. They will be releasing 7" single early next year though on Brille Music titled "Pangs Of Guilt" which is a reworking of the track that appears on their Demo CD.
I have never seen or even heard The Schla La Las before but they were entertaining and had some catchy songs. They have an EP out at the moment titled the "Demos" EP and you can also download it on i-tunes.
We also had the writers spinning some tunes and I had a 40 minute stint playing the likes of Santa Dog, Lucky Soul, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, The Charades, Persil and many more! I'm getting the hang of this dj'ing lark now....
We hope to arrange another night early next year. If it is as half as good as last nights then we would have a good time.
