I first wrote about Shade Tree in November 2004 for Sounds XP enthusing over their single "Murder Inside". Always had my finger on the pulse me. The band now have finally added some English words to their site and i'm glad to say they have reproduced the aforementioned review.
Shade Tree have got some good reviews mainly from English sites (the country not language!) and following an e-mail from them i'm glad to see they have several tracks available in both mp3 and wma formats.
These include the track "Undertow" from 'Murder Tree' which I described as "The whole EP has an unashamedly alt-country feel about it and is dominated by Jonsson’s fine Americana style singing supplemented by standout female backing vocals. “Undertow”, a track as good as anything else you will hear this year..."
Since that release the band have seemed to have grown larger and released two more EP's recorded in 2004 and 2005. These include the wonderful tracks "The Sweetness Left Behind" and "Stupidest Thing" which are two more excellent examples of alternative Americana despite hailing from Gothenburg!
