Describing their music as "east European folk inspired punk-rock" Croisztans made a stunning appearance at the Iceland Airwaves festival this year. Most if not all the members are Icelanders but they live and work in Copenhagen, and have been scaring danes since 1997. Apparently they are recording their second album although I have yet to find any mention oftheir first album anywhere. They bear a resemblance to The Wedding Present's spin-off band The Ukrainians although at time their live performance bears more resemblance to a horde of gypsies, caravans and all, tumbling down a flight of stairs, which is even better. With their bongo drums, horns, harmonicas and the booming-voiced singer dancing like a madman in the crowd they put on a good sweaty show. Their songs can be dark and menacing, playful and careless, fast and furious, and you should head over to their Myspace Page for a better look. On a side-note the singer used to lead a silly and brilliant band in the mid ninetees called Texas Jesus, whom I will take a closer look at sometime soon.Croisztans - Gnetza
Croisztans - Langsam
Croisztans - Kjöt
Croisztans - Flamengo
Croisztans - Buuther
