The Italian e-fanzine Indiepop. It has published what it considers to be the top 100 indie-pop albums.
Indiepop Top 100
Some of the choices are a bit strange. I mean The Charlatans?
Top 10's anybody?

I hate lists, if you just ignore the numbers it looks suspicously like my CD collection. OK, I only have about half. And I don't read Italian so there must be some verbage about not having multiple albums by the same artist. I didn't see Gene, or Bob, or St. Christopher. The Smiths, Wedding Present, Field Mice and James albums were placed too low. But again, ignoring numbers its a start. Does anyone have one favorite song or one favorite artist?
Looks a lot like my CD collection too, so I have to say that there are some pretty good records represented. Wish I could read it. I've noticed the artists are listed in alphabetical order -- not in the order of preference. How else could Air Miami rank above the Smiths? Good to see Talulah Gosh, the Flatmates and the Shop Assistants represented, as I'm a sucker for female fronted indie pop (but where's Even As We Speak?) Also does anyone have a CD version of "A Cabinet of Curiosities"? Give it to me now! ;)
Charlatans are great! Oasis are the best in my opinion though :p.
I love lists. But how can they have C86 number 1. The songs are terrible on that one.
Shadow factory is great, but the list seems a bit elitist.
My favourite indieband House of love number 9. I forgive them for everything...
Hi, I'm Salvatore from indiepop.it. Thanks for linking our list!
I see maybe a bit of explanation is needed.
The list is split in two parts: the 20 records we considered the most important (from an "historical" perspective), and the 80 remaining titles. Both list are ordered alphabetically. That's why The Wedding Present are placed so low.
The numbers are there just to make everybody see we really came up to 100.
Of course The Charlatans and other choices may be questionable, but that's the whole point of lists like this: to create some interest and/or discussion about our favourite music. I'm happy to see that happen. Bye.
