Whilst having some time off I caught up with some blogs I haven't visited in a while. This included Last Sound Of Summer who had a post on a London, but originally from Yorkshire, based band called Decoration.
And what a revelation this lot were and there is more than a hint of Leeds legends The Wedding Present about them. Described by Manchester Music as "...(Decoration) bring out everything good you remember about the early Leeds / Hull guitar scene, but add in a dash of early C86 and Creation Records and you’ll also hear much more modern flavours of jangly emotive pop" the tracks I've heard more than live up to this criteria.
