Au Revoir Simone have certainly made some of the most beautiful pop music I have heard all year. They hail from New York and they released their debut album " Verses Of Comfort, Assurance And Salvation" on the Japanese label Rallye in March. How did I miss it? They have also signed to Moshi Moshi in the UK.
How best to describe them? Stereolab would be a starting point but there is more to their synth (casio?)based pop than that. Just listen to these dreamlike tracks and judge for yourself.
