Shoegazing doesn't get much of a mention on indie-mp3. I am not sure how strong as a genre it was once you started scratching away at the surface but I do feel, in parts, that it was one avenue of progression (degression?) from the C86 scene. In any case it did provide a diversion in the early 1990's from the cash-in dance remixes of indie bands that were all the rage - despite The Chapterhouse remix album of course!
Shoegazing now seems to be labelled dream-pop and that is more than an apt description for Canadian band The Airfields.
The Airfields have an excellent download EP, titled "City State" available consisting of three great tracks my favourite being the epic "Leaps & Bounds" with it's many twist and turns. Great stuff - now where is my Slowdive t-shirt!
The Airfields - Leaps and Bounds
The Airfields - City State
The Airfields - If You Don't Believe
The band are currently working on their follow up to the "City State EP" which is due for release later this year.

Great find. They're a good pop/shoegaze mix. ;-)
There was some good stuff bracketed in the shoe gazing scene.
Thought the first couple of Pale Saints albums were great
