Whilst I was over in Dublin last week I met up with a couple of the Irish writers who, like me, contribute to SoundsXP.
One of them, an old C86'er too, enthused about The Marshal Stars. Heading back across the Irish Sea one of the first things I did was to pop over to their site and listen to a few mp3's. And mighty fine they are too and the best way to describe them is melodic and epic. Whilst the sound/genre is nothing new it's an excellent stab at greatness and I am sure the NME will be jumping on the bandwagon shortly.
The Marshal Stars - A Conscience And A Heart
More tracks are available on the site and these are mainly previews including one of the forthcoming single "Tough As Ol' Boots".
For those in Ireland SoundsXP has started a new forum dedicated to the Irish scene. Use and abuse it!

I love the sensibility of your blog, and your picks.
But you should know that the current post's mp3 link is dead, and the previous post's mp3s lack tags.
Thanks for what you do!

Thanks for your comments. Makes it worthwhile.
I have fixed the link for the Marshal Stars track as this was my error....
However as I am linking to tracks on the bands own websites I don't have control of the mp3 tags. I have mentioned before about correct tagging and if bands don't get any feedback via badly tagged mp3's then they only have themselves to blame.
