The Invisible Cities

San Francisco based The Invisible Cities have released their debut album "Watertown". The album, a nice mix of lo-fi pop comes with the classic indie girl/boy vocals that I am a sucker for. You can stream the whole album from here. I really like the tracks "Oh Yeah" and "Take My Picture" which would not have been out of place on Sarah Records!

Also on their site are mp3's of their demo and a cover of New Order's Regret.

The album is available direct from their site.

Their embedded player just crashed my copy of Safari; watch out, Mac users.

hey c86 I put up an invisible cities post recently too - I guess the band contacted a bunch of bloggers - very smarty really if I were in a band I'd do the same

PS can you link me up, I've had you on my site for awhile and we're both c86 (for me it's high school, for you?)

I get quite a lot of e-mails from bands wanting a posting on the blog. I am happy to oblige in most cases unless it doesn't relate to the site.

I was 19 in 1986 and by my fading memory was working for a government office by day, gig goer by night!!!

thanks so much for posting about watertown! :) i totally appreciate your support for the album. :)

in response to craig (who probably will never see this as it's 4 months after his initial post already) -- i feel uncomfortable self promoting, but don't know what else to do. if i don't push my band, and we don't have label support, and haven't ever toured, and are played on only 3 radio stations (all web based), i figure there's no other way anyone is going to find out about us in the near future unless i figure out some way to get the word out. or unless i drop cash for a college radio push like i keep thinking about. i dunno. if you have any ideas, i'd be psyched to hear them. this stuff is still totally new to me. sounds like maybe i did a sucky job communicating to you where i was coming from when i originally contacted you, and it caught you off guard -- i feel bad about that, but i guess it's par for the course with me being new at this and all. oh, well. sorry. cheers. :)
