Newish band The Boyfriends have two demo's up for grabs on their website. The band, who are getting some good press, are touring heavily at present and may be worth a listen/viewing based on the mp's below. If you like bands like The Futureheads then this should be right up your street.

Hey! I noticed your note about James Dean Driving Experience on your website. They're one of my favorite bands. So good! I don't know much about them, either, though - like you said, there is a severe lack of information out there about them. It's sad ... because they were so, so good. They have so many other great songs, and I'm sure you'd love them even more if you heard them. One of the only things I know about the band is that someone from it was in a band called the Ruth Ellis Swing Band, and that group only released one flexi-disc. They sounded a lot like JDDE.
Anyway, keep in touch with me, and let me know if you find out anything else about JDDE. I have never seen a picture of them or anything, but am dying to. Every day, I hope to learn something else about them, but it never happens. So sad! Heh. Write to me at famethrow1@aol.com and let me know if you hear anything. I have all of the band's records, so maybe I could make a tape for you at some point. I don't have the cassette, though, and am still looking for it. I wonder if I'll ever find it ...
Goodnight!

Hi!
A member of the band has e-mailed me. Hopefully he will provide a history of the band as he kindly offered to do so.
Watch this space as they say!
Hi again! How are you? I was wondering if you'd heard any more about JDDE. If you have and just haven't gotten around to posting it, then I'm sorry to bother you. I am just curious.
If you can, please e-mail me at famethrow1@aol.com and let me know if you find out anything else. I ask this because it may slip my mind to check back on this page as to whether you've posted anything more. If you remember to, let me know via e-mail if/when you update. Thanks!
Also, I don't want to get greedy, but ... is there any way you could let me know what Ian's (from JDDE) e-mail address is? I'd love to get in touch with him.
Take care and thanks!
-Michael
Just to let you
know that we are hoping to release a CD album of the bands back-catalogue as
well as some re-recorded versions and unreleased demo's. In the process of
trying to arrange studio time that suits all for our first rehearsal in 5
years. We've been approached by two labels, one in California and one in
Germany and hope to license versions to both. So keep your eyes and ears
open!
Incidently, as to the Ruth Ellis swing band release. Ian had no knowledge of
it until it appeared on ebay and the only link to the JDDE is that it
includes Philip who played percussion on the cassette and flexi release's.
He left and was replaced with a full-kit drummer early on in the bands
career.
let me know how it goes..
I was the original drummer then bassist.
